Manufacturing Quality Glass Ware
Home About Us Contact Us
Glamosa Glass was established in 1958 in a small factory in Elandsfontein near Germiston, Gauteng. In 1970 a new factory was built in the town of Estcourt Kwazulu Natal from where the company operates at present.

Innitially Glamosa (Short for Glass Mosaic) produced vitreous glass mosaics in a wide range of colours. Today glass mosaic is no longer produced but the infrastructure and ability to produce coloured glass remains enabling the production of coloured glass cullet on request.

In 1980 Glamosa Glass started manufacturing a new range of lamp shade glass products, including many blown, pressed and spun glass ware products. Glamosa specialises in production of opaline (also known as milk, white or opaque) and flint (clear) glass lamp shade and light fixture glass items. Production processes incorporate machine-made semi-automated products, and due to popular demand Glamosa also produces an extensive range of handmade mouth-blown glass ware items, including candle shades, vases and art glass.

In 2009 Glamosa Glass identified the need in the glass container market for niche customised short run glass containers. In South Africa the ability to differentiate products on the glass containers used does not exist. The company is able to develop glass containers from concept to final product for customers at a fraction of the cost of large mass producers.

Glamosa Glass endeavours to be an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible company. Recycled glass and fuel is utilised in the production process with the local community being compensated for recycled glass supplied to the company.
